Capsule Endoscopy
What is it?
Capsule endoscopy involves swallowing a small pill-sized camera that takes thousands of images as it travels through the digestive tract.
When It's Needed
It is used to investigate unexplained GI bleeding, assess the small intestine for conditions like Crohn’s disease, and detect tumors or polyps that might be missed by traditional endoscopy.
Why It’s Important
Capsule endoscopy offers a minimally invasive way to evaluate parts of the small intestine that are hard to reach with other procedures.
